A recent message our District Governor shared with District leaders:
Like many of you, I have been deeply saddened by the devastation caused by the recent earthquakes in Venezuela. Thousands of families have been affected, with many losing their homes, access to basic necessities, and the security that we often take for granted.
As Rotarians, we have a long tradition of responding when disaster strikes and helping communities recover and rebuild. Several club leaders have asked how they can assist those impacted by this tragedy.
There are two trusted Rotary-supported avenues through which clubs and individual Rotarians can provide assistance:
The Rotary Foundation Disaster Response Fund
Contributions to The Rotary Foundation Disaster Response Fund help provide immediate relief and recovery assistance to communities affected by disasters around the world. Funds are used through Rotary's disaster response grant program to support local Rotary-led efforts that address urgent humanitarian needs.
ShelterBox
ShelterBox is Rotary's longtime disaster relief partner and specializes in providing emergency shelter, essential household items, and lifesaving support to families displaced by disasters. ShelterBox teams work directly with affected communities to ensure aid reaches those most in need.
Both organizations have established systems in place to deliver assistance quickly and effectively to disaster victims.
If your club would like to support earthquake relief efforts in Venezuela, I encourage you to consider making a club contribution or sharing these opportunities with your members. Every donation, regardless of size, can help provide hope and assistance to families facing extraordinary challenges.
